Carrying out electrical alterations in your home if you are not a qualified electrician can be very dangerous and could be a potential fire risk. A recent call to SJM Electrical Services is a prime example of a keen DIY customer attempting to install 4 down lighters in their bedroom. All the conductors were mixed up and connected incorrectly and the right equipment hadn’t been used. This resulted in all the cables being left laying on the ceiling joist, instead of being securely fastened in a junction box.
