DIY SOS
As some of you may already know, we were privileged to be selected to take part in the BBC’s DIY SOS: The Big Build in May 2017 when the project came to West Sussex to help a family in need after a tragic accident.
As soon as we heard that a local family were in need and DIY SOS were looking for businesses to donate their time, skills and manpower to help with the project we just knew we had to help.
The atmosphere on the project was fantastic, businesses and professionals from all over West Sussex working together to a tight time frame in order to accomplish the task in hand in order to make the family’s dream come true and ultimately change their lives significantly.
The team worked tirelessly, contributing considerable amounts of time and effort to completing the task to the best of their ability. Collectively we spent 9 days on The Big Build, working alongside the familiar faces you see on TV in order to achieve the final goal.
The community spirit that we experienced during our time working on The Big Build encompasses our over-riding mission as a small, local business; to keep the community and local people at the heart of everything we do and this job really supported everything we stand for.
However, it wasn’t all work and no play on the project; we were lucky enough to be invited to Trades Night with the whole DIY SOS team and the other businesses we were working alongside to have some downtime and bond and catch up over a drink which the whole team thoroughly enjoyed!
But ultimately, the best moment for us out of the whole process was being present to witness the reaction of the family as the final transformation was unveiled; that totally made the long days and countless hours of hardworking 100% worth it.
As a business, we are beyond proud to have been selected to be part of such an incredible community project, for such a worthwhile cause and it will go down in the history of our business as one of our biggest achievements.
